Simply Pansies

Purple and yellow colors for any garden, let spring gardening begin.

One simple plant often gives way to the current decorating schemes of bigger and more is better. Or so we are lead to believe.

If you want to stay gardening, simple is a legitimate strategy to use.  So, first thing for the spring garden, start off with a potted container of pansies.

There is no one plant so filled with color, even going back to old stand-by varieties.

Pansies come in softer colors like yellow and lilac, consider Antique named varieties to plant.

An entire flat will give you enough for some in the landscape, warming vistiors to your front door, depsite a dusting of snowflakes.

Northern gardeners love pansies because they thrive amidst temperature fluctuations so well known in cold climates during spring.

Purple pansies added to yellow daffodils popping up is a simple and colorful touch.

So, simply plant pansies this spring and you will have a good beginning to the garden season, and to stay gardening.

Beautiful pictures Chris. What I love about pansies and violas, the mini ones, is that they pop up all over your garden where you least expect them; at least they do in my Cyprus garden as the seeds seem to blow everywhere!
So pull off those little seed heads as the flowers fade and just drop into another pot or container, even throw them on some rough land if you have it for a vibrant splash of colour.
Here’s a link to my pots of violas if you want some more pics :)

They are still the favorite for many of us gardeners, I think. Beautiful photo, Helen. Thanks for adding to my site.
